What’s stopping you?

A conversation last week reminded me of Michelangelo's series of sculptures known as The Captives - men (characteristically muscular men!) - struggling to escape the prison of the stone that holds them.

This one is known as The Rebellious Captive.

If you look quickly, or from a certain angle, what you see is strength and power. Everything looks fine.

Look from a different angle and it’s clear the figure is trapped.

Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate

Perhaps this is a question of translation: waiting for marble to waste away?
That’s not going to happen.

Many of the people I work with people look successful and strong on the outside - but something inside is holding them back and stopping them from being the person they know they can be, and living the life they truly want.

That's the work we do together.

What do you have inside you that’s struggling to get free?
