COACHING FOR ADULTS

The Shortest Path

For when you want your life to change
but you don’t know how.

Think back to a time when you did something extraordinary – something you didn't know you could do.

Taking a risk, doing something that felt impossible, trusting your gut, going with your dare…

How did it feel?
Do you want to feel like that again?
That sense of being
you?

Your sense of identity contains three elements

How it works

Your story

01

Your understanding of your life and its meaning

Your scripts

02

The invisible patterns that are driving your story

Your shadow

03

The parts of you, both darker and golden, that you've lost along the way

Together we'll explore the story you've built about who you are and look at the hidden forces that have shaped you.

  • you’re worried about what you ought to do

  • you want people you care about to be happy

  • you feel pulled in different directions and

  • you don’t know what you think anymore.

What’s your story?

Whether you love writing or you really don't – writing helps.

I started writing when I was 21.

I had glandular fever then post-viral depression. All my friends were moving on with their lives, my parents moved to Devon and I had to tag along, miles away from my old home. I felt completely lost.

A friend had given me a blank book for my birthday. Five months later I opened it and started writing.

Your first notebooks will probably be like mine - awkward and self-conscious - but that soon changes. Putting things down on paper lifts the pressure in your head and gives you space to think. Once you get in the habit, it’s easy.

There’s a lot of compelling research into the neuroscience of handwriting and the power of regular writing. I think it’s a bit magical - and I’m on notebook 54!

“Every time I add to my journal it feels like putting money in a money box for my future.”

“I've realised this isn't an indulgence.”
